Our two principal landscapes in the
Eastern Cape of South Africa

The Baviaanskloof and Langkloof are agricultural landscapes within global biodiversity hotspots and vital water catchment areas, spanning nearly 500,000 hectares. They provide water to 1.2 million people in Gqeberha (formerly PE).

Land degradation threatens water security, agriculture, and livelihoods locally and regionally. Given their biodiversity significance, we trial innovative solutions that integrate ecology and agriculture, driving holistic landscape restoration.

Alongside our work in our principal landscapes, we apply what we’ve learned and implement projects throughout the region.

Supporting the Eastern Cape Conservancies Management Unit

As one of the founding partners of the Conservancies Management Unit, we are supporting Conservancies covering over 1 million hectares across the Eastern Cape.

Implementing large-scale restoration projects

Our restoration partner, the Baviaanskloof Bewarea works with Living Lands to implement restoration activities in the Sarah Baartman district.

We can support specific projects at a farm or industry-level in line with our expertise.
